Overview
The quickest way to collect a review is to send a direct request to a customer right after their visit or purchase. RatingsRise supports both SMS and email delivery methods.
Sending a Request
- Go to Get Reviews → Send in the sidebar.
- Select one or more customers from your customer list, or enter a new phone number/email.
- Choose the delivery method: SMS or Email.
- Customize the message template if desired. The default template includes a personalized greeting and your direct Google review link.
- Click Send Request.
Message Templates
RatingsRise provides default templates that are optimized for high conversion rates. You can customize these templates using merge fields:
{{firstName}}— Customer's first name{{businessName}}— Your business name{{reviewLink}}— Direct Google review link
SMS Best Practices
- Keep messages under 160 characters for a single SMS segment
- Send within 1 hour of the customer's visit for the highest conversion
- Always identify your business name so the customer knows who is texting
- Include an opt-out instruction (RatingsRise adds this automatically)
Email Best Practices
- Use a clear subject line like "How was your visit to [Business Name]?"
- Keep the email body short with one clear call-to-action button
- Send during business hours for the best open rates
